Roocode: Opensource alternative Cursor AI & Codex

This program is used internally at Yandex. The company takes privacy seriously. Due to sanctions, tools like Cursor, Codes, and Claude Code are unavailable — they are all banned.
Some companies spend millions building in-house AI agents. The result is usually poor and doesn’t scale. For example, Sberbank attempted to create its own Codex/CursorAI. They built the UI, the agents, and a custom document indexing system. I tested their solution while working with the team. Unfortunately, the result was far from useful.
I attended a Yandex event where I participated in a masterclass on training RooCode. After that, we held a hackathon and built a game using RooCode AI from Yandex. I also spoke directly with the creator of Yandex’s CursorAI, which is based on RooCode. I can confirm that this solution is simple and genuinely useful. I also recommend the Podlodka podcasts if you want to learn more about tools like these.
At Koveh.com, we can help you set up RooCode and tailor it to your needs.
